We are pleased to advise that Dr Ashar Imam will commence in private practice on site at St Andrew’s Hospital from Monday 2nd July, 2018. 

Dr Ashar Imam is an Adult Psychiatrist with special interests in anxiety disorders, recurrent depression and cognitive behaviour therapy for alcohol dependence and substance abuse.
Having worked in the Mental Health Unit of the Toowoomba Hospital for the past nine years, Dr Imam is familiar with the Toowoomba and Darling Downs community.
Dr Imam’s new private practice at St Andrew’s Hospital will be offering services in the areas of:

• Adult Psychiatry
• Adolescent Psychiatry (from the age of 16 years old)
• Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) for major mental illness.

Dr Imam will be admitting patients for private inpatient treatment to the St Andrew’s 16-bed inpatient ward as required, along with appropriate referrals to the Hospital’s outpatient group program on the topics of Depression, Anxiety and Self Esteem.
